Having trouble with the BMW Footwell Control Module (FRM)? This module was used in the BMW 1 Series (E81/E82/E87/E88), BMW 3 Series (E90/E91/E92/E93) and BMW X1 (E84 2009-2015). A defect in this part can lead to various inconveniences, such as a non-functioning central locking system and lighting problems with number plate lighting, taillights, dipped headlights, position lights and indicators. The window controls at the front and/or rear may also not work properly.

In addition, the following error codes can be activated with a defective FRM module:

• A3B4: Message Error (Lighting State, 0x21A), Instrument Cluster Receiver, Footwell Module Transmitter
• A3C1: Message Error (Lighting State, 0x4F0), Instrument Cluster Receiver, Footwell Module Transmitter
• A559: Instrument Cluster Power Supply Has Been Switched Off (Closed-circuit Current Cutoff Relay)
• 9CBB: Short Circuit Fault
• 9CBC: FRM: Short Circuit Fault
